Alan Kent Ferguson, 87, passed away at Delnor Hospital in St. Charles, on Thursday February 18, 2016 . At his request, no service will be held.

He was born January 30, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to George Ferguson and Sarah (VanDusen) Ferguson. Alan attended Glenbard high school in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan . He attended Elmhurst College and then completed a four-year lineman apprenticeship program with the Commonwealth Edison Company.

His interests included collecting antiques of all kinds, reading, vintage automobiles and supporting animal rescue groups.

He is survived by his two sons, David (Linda) Ferguson, Matthew (Karen Ann) Ferguson and two daughters, Karen Marie (Dirk) Huff, Elissa Ferguson and six grand children, Gloria and Mark Ferguson, Abby and Emma Ferguson, Nathan and Micah Huff.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn (Messley) Ferguson, a son, Kent Scott Ferguson and a granddaughter, Charlotte Ferguson.

Memorials may be made to an animal rescue group or shelter of your choice.
