Agnes Evelyn Kubicz (nee Wolff), age 95 of Sister Bay, was called home by her Lord on November 30, 2023.
Agnes was born on June 11, 1928, to Charles and Oma Wolff of Downers Grove, Illinois. She graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1946. Agnes married Stanley "Ted" Kubicz of Chicago, Illinois on February 20, 1976.
Agnes worked for Capital Airlines in Chicago and Washington D.C. and worked for 23 years for United Airlines at their headquarter office in Mt. Prospect, Illinois following the merger of Capital Airlines to United Airlines in 1960.
Agnes and her husband were active downhill skiers and golfers. They enjoyed visiting Door County and then bought a home that they loved in Baileys Harbor. Agnes was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor and a longtime member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Peninsula Chamber Singers for 20 years and was active in the Peninsula Music Festival Sustaining Committee. She was a life member of The Ridges Sanctuary and a former board member. Agnes was richly blessed with many wonderful friends.
Agnes is survived by two nephews, Roger Wolfe (wife, Nancy) of Lake Geneva, and Jay Cornils (wife, Corlis) of Cleburne, Texas; two nieces, Oma Jean Amundson (nee Cornils / husband, Robert) of Cleburne, Texas and Sandy Bothmer (nee Wolff / husband, Dick) of Brookline, New Hampshire; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley who died on December 26, 2004, her sister, Kay Cornils (husband, Al) who died in 2006, and her brother, Robert (Bud) Wolff (wife, Shirley) who died in 2021.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Baileys Harbor, Lawrence University - Björklunden in Baileys Harbor, or Peninsula Music Festival in Ephraim, WI.
A funeral service for Agnes will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. Burial will be in Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
