Richard G. Wick

Richard "Dick" G. Wick age 83, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formerly of Downers Grove, passed away on Monday March 14, 2016 at his home with his family.

Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose, on October 25th, 2013.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherine (Ken) Ehrenberger; granddaughter, Lisa (Matt) Radowski; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Lucy and many nieces and nephews.

Dick served his country as a sargent in the United States Army during the Korean war. He was very active in the American Legion and VFW organizations. Dick was an expert in infra red technology and industrial ovens. He successfully ran Wick Combustion Engineering, his own business, for over 40 years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.

People often referred to him as the "John Wayne" type of guy. Someone who pretty much told it like it was, someone you always felt safe with and someone you would enjoy having a beer with. He loved dogs, fishing and his family. He read several papers everyday and was always interested in current events and advances in science. We will miss him forever. We are so thankful we had him in our lives.
