Marguerite Abdallah Obituary

Daughter of the late M. Cecil Newberry and Marguerite Hall Newberry, Marguerite Newberry Abdallah passed away on January 13, 2026. Married to Dr. Fawky M. Abdallah in 1978, Marguerite and Fawky recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. Marguerite is survived by her husband, Fawky; and her stepson, Shereef (Joanne); and her children, Rita (the late Mark Taylor), Rob (Whitney), and Marc (Grey). She lived life with a grace and warmth that drew people to her effortlessly.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Wilson, N.C. Graveside service was at Maplewood Cemetery.

A graduate of Charles L. Coon High School in Wilson, N.C., Marguerite dedicated the early part of her career to serving others. She pursued training to teach adults with developmental disabilities, a passion she practiced for over fifteen years at Wilson Diversified Opportunities and Forsyth Technical Institute in Winston-Salem.

In 1986, she joined her husband's business as Vice President of Fawky Abdallah Co., International Consultants, and ISSCORP, International Sales and Service Corporation. As such, Marguerite travelled with her husband to more than 50 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. She helped in editing her husband's ongoing presentations and technical consultancy and actively participated in ISSCORP's sales and services.

One of her greatest achievements was assisting her husband in generating sales of Strategic Fibers via the USAID program, for which ISSCORP received a commendation from the US Department of State. She also worked diligently with her husband on commissioning Eric Miller & Associates of Madison Avenue, NYC, in developing package designs for an overseas client and the WILSON package design for a brand owned by ISSCORP. In addition, she helped in the design of the logos of Fawky Abdallah Co & ISSCORP.

For over 47 years, Marguerite has been a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Since retiring to Arbor Acres in 2017, Marguerite was cherished by residents and staff alike for her beautiful smile and her unique ability to make everyone she met feel like the most important person in the room. We will all miss Marguerite.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in Marguerite's memory to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1423, Wilson, NC 27894.

Bill

February 4, 2026

As the Wong family-my dad Ricky, mom Helen, my brother Bill, and I (Will)-we were deeply touched when we learned of her passing. Dad first met Marguerite and Fawky many years ago when they came to China for business. He had the privilege of serving as their translator and escort, and a genuine friendship quickly formed. Over time, they came to see both Bill and me as their god-grandsons, and the four of us have cherished maintaining that close, meaningful connection with them ever since.
Marguerite´s kind heart and effortless way of making everyone feel special left a lasting impression on all of us. We´ll always remember her beautiful smile and the joy she brought to every interaction.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Fawky, Shereef and Joanne, Rita, Rob and Whitney, Marc and Grey, and all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories and the love she gave so freely.

With deepest sympathy and continued affection,
The Wong Family
(Ricky, Helen, Bill, and Will)
