Samuel Lee Burford, 68, of Creighton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026. He was born on Sept. 4, 1957, in Leesport, to the late Lester and Isabelle (Yates) Burford. Samuel was a loving father to Hope (Richard) Snyder of Cabot, PA, Samantha (Brian) Smith of Sarver, PA, Sammi Jo (Mike) Burford of Indianola, PA, Jessica (John) Ives of Kittanning, PA, and Sara (Patrick) Calhom of New Kensington, PA. He was a beloved brother to Edna Burford, David (Vicki) Burford, Robert Burford, Timothy (Bridget) Burford, Bonnie (Arthur) Gamble, Linda Jones, and Trudi (Dennis) Jones. Samuel is also survived by 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his devoted companion, Sandy Alexander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Burford; his son, Samuel Burford Jr.; his brothers, Lester and James Burford; and his sister, Diane Armstrong. Sam enjoyed watching wrestling, fishing, and working on automobiles. He proudly owned and operated his own auto repair business, Sam & Sons Auto, in New Kensington.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-0010). A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
