Karl Welford Clatterbuck

September 9, 1945 - January 23, 2026

Karl Welford Clatterbuck, 80, of Louisa, Va., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Veterans Administration Hospital after a brief battle with throat cancer.

Born in Charlottesville, Va., on September 9, 1945, Karl was a proud graduate of Orange County High School. He dedicated more than 28 years of service to Keller Manufacturing in Culpeper, Va., before continuing his career with MPS in Orange, Va.

A man of deep faith, Karl found joy and solace in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and spent countless hours feeding deer, birds, squirrels, and stray cats, moments he cherished as time spent connecting with God.

In his youth, Karl was known for his athletic talent in baseball, football, and wrestling as a Hornet under Coach Sizemore. Above all, his greatest pride came from his family. He was a devoted husband to Barbara Clatterbuck; a loving father to Karla Woody of Zion Crossroads; and a caring stepfather to Tina Brown of Orange and Sandra Throckmorton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was also a proud grandfather to Kaleb Boisvert, Julia Boisvert, and Easton Woody of Louisa; Chris Rollins of Orange; Ashley Rollins of Richmond; and William Lamb of Orange. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Savannah Rollins, Maverick Rollins, and Kennly Lamb, all of Orange.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Welford and Virginia Mae Clatterbuck; his sisters, Linda Snead and Betty Lawhorn; and his brother, Charles Clatterbuck.

In honor of Karl's lifelong love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.

A private family ceremony will be held to celebrate his life.
