LYNN FINESILVER CRYSTAL
September 29, 1940 - January 26, 2026
Lynn Finesilver Crystal, a native of San Antonio, died on January 26, 2026.

After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, Lynn attended Sophie Newcomb College and the University of Texas at Austin before graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. She was one of just two women in the Economics department, an early marker of the determination and independence that would define her life.

After making her debut, Lynn moved to New York City, where she became one of the first women professionals on Wall Street. Later, when she returned home, she served as the society columnist for the San Antonio Light. She then took on responsibility for her family's business, Finesilver Manufacturing, today the site of the Finesilver Building.

She will be remembered for her joy for life and her commitment to her family. A devoted daughter to her parents, Hertzel and Suzy Finesilver, Lynn was the mother of James F. (Denise) Crystal, Sanford F. (Jennifer) Crystal, and Jonathan H.F. (Darcie) Crystal; grandmother of Genevieve (Miles Morgan), Abigail (Rowan Bianchi), William, Alex, Samantha, Eli, Hannah, and Abram.

Lynn was active in the local community and a longtime supporter of the arts. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Temple Beth-El of San Antonio, 211 Belknap Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212, or the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20005.

A funeral service will take place at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 29, at Temple Beth-El (211 Belknap Place) in the Wulfe Sanctuary, followed by a graveside service at Temple Beth-El Cemetery Palmetto (1350 Crockett St.).
