July 17, 1936 - January 14, 2026

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alejandro Saucedo, 89, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Our Lady of Grace Parish at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, with a rosary at 3 p.m. Mr. Saucedo passed away naturally at home with his family.

Born July 17, 1936, in San Leon, Texas, to Ventura and Juanita (Ortega) Saucedo, Alejandro married Delfina Moreno on July 29, 1958, at the former Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, Ill. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2014.

He worked for the Rock Island Railroad until its 1980 closure, then for the City of East Moline in Sanitation and as a wastewater treatment operator, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed time with family and friends, westerns, music, and cards.

Survivors include children, Roberto (Luz Maria Ramirez) and Armando (Tammy Hartman), both of East Moline; Anna (Jesus) Cardoza, Muscatine, Iowa; Chocos (Troy) Tapia, East Moline; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arturo and Samuel, both of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Jovita, Victor, Lily, and Gloria.
