John V. Rado, 74, of Hebron passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He was born September 19, 1951, in Gary, Ind., to John and Agnes (Boynak) Rado and graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1970. John made his career as a Machinist with U.S. Steel Garyworks from 1970 – 2013. He was a longtime member of Salem First United Methodist Church in Hebron and a lifetime member of the NRA. John enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, and was loved by all who knew him, making friends everywhere he went.

On November 2, 1991, he married Elaine Williams who survives along with their son, Bryan (Marlaina) Rado of Chicago, brother, Richard (Agne) Rado of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 30, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, beginning at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Rev. Tom Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Salem Methodist Church.
