Marc Bergquist Obituary

Northfield - Marc Thomas Bergquist, age 62, of Northfield, passed away on December 20, 2025, at home.

Marc was born on September 15, 1963, and grew up in Hopkins and Northfield. He graduated from Northfield High School and went on to work as an extremely talented cabinet maker with Designed Cabinets, where he spent most of his career.

In 1992, Marc met Suzanne Sanford, and the two were married on January 8, 1999. They made their home in Nerstrand before settling on a small farm west of Northfield. Marc and Suzy had two children: Kyler, who died shortly after birth, and Kiersten.

Marc would never miss a Twins or Vikings game on TV, or an opportunity to throw his witty remarks into the conversation. He loved being outside and running the skid loader for every project that he could.

Marc was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter, Harper. Known for his caring nature, quiet presence, and level-headed demeanor, Marc touched the lives of those around him in gentle but meaningful ways. He lived with COPD for many years and was lovingly cared for by his wife and daughter throughout that time. He is so deeply missed by his friends and family.

Marc is survived by his wife, Suzy; daughter, Kiersten (Dalton) of Faribault; granddaughter, Harper; and sisters, Laura and Mary Jo; his father, Jeff Rowan; his mother, Nancy; and mother-in law, Sandra Sanford. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Kyler; father-in-law, Leslie Sanford; his brother, Alan; and step father, Ron Bergquist.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
