Tyler Simmons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory on Oct. 29, 2025.
Tyler Matthew Simmons, 24, of Gloucester, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, October 24, 2025. Tyler graduated from the class of 2020 from Dade County High School in Georgia and completed the WCG OFF Shielded Metal ARC Welding SMAW at Rappahannock Community College. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed working with his hands. Family was important to him, and he was a friend to everyone. Tyler loved to draw and collect bandanas with purple and teal as his favorite colors. One of his favorite sayings was "going to do sketchy stuff." His father, Matthew Simmons, paternal grandparents June Wilders and Chesley Simmons, and maternal grandfather Pete Vaught preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Simmons, two sisters, Amber Duke (Alan) and Kendall Simmons, nieces Rylie, Layla, Shelby, Kayleigh, and nephews Chris and Rylan. Maternal grandmother Barbara Toney, special aunt Suzanne Manning (Ken), special cousins April and Angel, and additional family and treasured friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:45 am at Beech Grove Baptist Church, 4073 Cedar Bush Road, Hayes, VA 23072, where he was a member, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, officiated by the Reverend Richard Croxton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Tyler's legacy lives on through the lives he touched as an organ donor-services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
