Tina Joy Schroeder

December 2, 1964 - January 26, 2026

Tina Schroeder was born on December 2, 1964, in Gadsden, Alabama, to Brenda Sims and her father. She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda, who passed away in 2021.

On June 2, 1987, Tina married Kendrick "Kenny" Schroeder, beginning a year partnership built on grit, loyalty, and a lifetime of shared work, adventure, and devotion. Together they raised two children, her son, Samuel Randall, whom Kenny loved and raised as his own, and her daughter, Kristen Eakin.

Tina lived a life defined by hard work and fierce love. She was a CNA at 7 Rivers Hospital, caring for others with steady hands and a generous heart. She later worked alongside Kenny running shrimp boats, and the two eventually became millwright workers as team in every sense of the word.

In 2019, Tina and Kenny stepped into a new chapter of parenthood when they adopted six of their grandchildren, giving them a home filled with structure, love, and unwavering commitment. Protecting and raising those children became the center of her world.

Tina is survived by her husband, Kendrick "Kenny" Schroeder; her son, Samuel Randall, and his wife, Shawanna; her daughter, Kristen, and her husband, David Eakin.

She leaves behind a large and deeply loved family of grandchildren. Through Samuel, his wife Shawanna, and Amanda Randall, along with her she is survived by: Zachary Brady, Harold Brown, Jacob Brown, Megan Randall, Wyatt Randall, Lane Randall and his fiancée, Faye Loney and Hunter Randall.

She is survived by the six children she and Kenny raised, not just grandchildren, but the kids they devoted their lives to: Garrett Eakin and fiancée Addy, Dustin Eakin with girlfriend Ashten, Kyilee Eakin, Buck Eakin, Kryshna Eakin, Anthony Eakin

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Eakin.

Tina is also survived by her siblings, each with families of their own who loved her deeply: Bernadine McMahan and family; Terry Sims and wife, Kim, Mike Sims and wife, Wendy; Brian Sims and wife, Alice; Tracy Cotton and family; Mary Benefield Foster and family; and Kimberly Self and husband, Ross.

Tina was a wonderful aunt and great aunt kind, giving, and stubborn in all the ways that made her uniquely herself. She loved her extended family deeply and was a steady, loving presence in their lives.

Tina was known for her kindness, her generosity, and the fierce, unwavering love she carried for her grandchildren. To them, she wasn't just a grandmother she was Nanny, the steady, loving presence they could always count on. Being Nanny was the role she cherished most, and she poured her whole heart into every child she raised, protected, or held close.

She passed away in Comanche, Texas, where she built a life full of family, hard work, and devotion.

Tina treasured her time with Kenny. Their bond was strong, loyal, and precious to her, a partnership built on decades of shared work, shared dreams, and shared adventures. Some of her happiest moments were spent riding on the motorcycle they shared, especially through the mountains of Pigeon Forge, her favorite place. She often talked about how much she missed that time with him the open road, the wind, the mountains. That was her peace, her joy, her freedom.

Tina left this world the way she lived in it with love, courage, and a heart devoted to her family. It's not goodbye, but until we see you again. We love you so much.

Her legacy lives on in the children she raised, the family she held together, and the countless lives shaped by her fierce, steady love.
