Tana Skeen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home Branson on Jan. 26, 2026.
Tana Sue Skeen was born in Branson, MO on August 16, 1962, and passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 from complications from surgery.

Tana passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion to her family, and unmistakable fire. She was preceded in death by her father, William Russell, her mother, Margaret Russell, and her grandson Christian Russell.

Tana is survived by her loving husband, Allen Skeen, and her cherished children: Eric & Robyn Russell, Kevin & Jody Russell, Keta & Donnie Sherwood, and Melissa & Joe Cutting. She leaves behind her 4 sisters Carol, Cheryl, Martha, and Ruby, as well as her brother Billy. She also leaves behind a long and deeply treasured line of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carried a special place in her heart.

Tana was known as a true spitfire-much like her auburn hair-Tana lived with grit, humor, and unparalleled love for her family. Born without her fibula, walking was often a daily struggle, yet she faced the challenges of life head on with resilience and strength. She would often challenge people to a race on crutches, as over the years she had plenty of experience. She never asked for much for herself, but she gave endlessly to her children, whom she loved more than anything. She was fiercely proud of them and took every opportunity to brag about their accomplishments.

Family was the center of Tana's world, she took every opportunity to express that love with big hugs and kisses. She would also show her love during the holidays cooking the favorite dessert for everyone including her carrot cake, cherry pie, chocolate pie, and even baking homemade bread. Her expressions of love, especially her warm hugs and kisses, will be deeply missed. The warmth of her smile and the generosity of her heart created memories that will live on in those she leaves behind.

Tana Sue Skeen will be remembered for her strength, her fiery spirit, her selfless love, and the deep devotion she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched and every story shared in her memory.
