Sarah Lozier Obituary

Sarah (Gregory) Lozier, age 100, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Monmouth Crossings Assisted Living in Freehold, New Jersey.
Born on October 27, 1925, in Conyngham, Pennsylvania, Sarah was the daughter of John and Genevieve Gregory. She relocated with her family to Succasunna, New Jersey, during her childhood and was a graduate of Roxbury High School, Class of 1943. On April 7, 1951, she married Lambert Robert Lozier. The couple later moved to New York City, where they owned and operated a retail business on 34th Street in Manhattan from 1955 to 1965. Following their years in New York City, Sarah returned to Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, where she served for many years as an administrator within the Hopatcong school system.
Upon retirement, Sarah and her husband resided in Seneca, South Carolina, and Laurinburg, North Carolina, before ultimately settling in Freehold, New Jersey.
Sarah is remembered for her kindness, generosity, and gracious spirit. She is survived by her niece and nephews: John Dolan of Freehold, New Jersey; Donald Gregory of Juneau, Alaska; Frank Fahringer of Gainesville, Florida; and Sara Gregory of Juneau, Alaska. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends, including her longtime "phone crew," with whom she maintained daily contact for many years, Berti Ann Meril, Ann Josey, Nancy and countless other friends and family.
Special recognition is given to Wayne Threlkel of Randolph, New Jersey, a close friend and former supervisor at the Hopatcong Board of Education, with whom Sarah maintained a friendship for more than 40 years following her retirement.
A private burial service will be held in the memorial garden of Seneca Presbyterian Church in Seneca, South Carolina.
