It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Sarah Evelyn Dyess Hawkins.
She was born on March 27, 1937 and passed peacefully at her home in Mobile, Alabama on January 22, 2026 with her family by her side.
She was a beloved mother of three children: Willie M. Hawkins Jr (Angela), Kathy Hawkins Robinson, Ellen Hawkins Montjoy (Richard) and MawMaw to Amy Hawkins Buckley, Amanda Hawkins, Jerred Milton Robinson, Dana Lee Ann Douglas, Victoria Montjoy Smith, William Lawrence Montjoy, Derrick Wilkerson, Christopher Wilkerson, Jonathan Wilkerson, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Willie M Hawkins Sr. As well as her parents, Clarence L Dyess, Vinnie L Dyess and her siblings Robert E Dyess, Clarence L Dyess, John B Dyess, Henry L Dyess, James C Dyess, and Mary M Dyess. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Dyess Morgan.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 2 pm. Visitation will be Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 2pm until 5pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends from 1pm until service time Monday.
