Randy Summey Obituary

Randy Rindale Summey, aged 71, of East Flat Rock, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Saturday, 20 December 2025, in his home.

Born on 20 November 1954 in Hendersonville, North Carolina, Randy was the son of Carl and Ethel Marie Summey. With a mechanical engineering degree, Randy proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. After serving his country, Randy went on to fulfill his true joy in life: serving his community as a CNA at the local nursing home until his retirement. Randy was also an avid history aficionado and sports fan. Of all the things in life that Randy loved, he loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids the most.

He's preceded in death by his parents, two older sisters: Evelyn and Catherine, and his older brother: Jimmy. On his parents' side, Randy is survived by his sister: Betty Jean "Nell" Darity, his brother: Jerry Summey, and a host of nieces and nephews. Through marriage, Randy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lynne Pruitt Summey. He is also survived by his daughters: LaToya Summey (Kevin Kai), Breauna Summey Brown (Jacob Brown), Rachel Baynard, and Becky Harrigan, and his sons: Kenan "KC" Summey (Hailey Summey) and Erich Cabe. A plethora of grandchildren survive Randy in his death: Caden Carver, Alrowe and Noah Brown, Paisley Summey, Caleb Cabe, Ashley and Taylor Allen, Erin L. and Chris Skinner, Elijah Staton. Randy's surviving great-grandchilden include: Kamarah Logan, Romani Estrich, Willow and Amelia Savage-Cabe, Everleigh Rivers-Cabe, and Jayde "Rosebud" Allen.

Randy and Lynne, later in life, were given a blessing named Mason "Junebug", who became their son, one who will keep the legacy of his "Papa" living on for years to come.
