Matthew Kubasta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Affordable Burial & Cremation Service - Austin Area on Jan. 16, 2026.
Matthew Taz Kubasta passed away on December 30, 2025. Matthew was born in Richardson, Texas on May 22, 1990. He was a loved husband, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Yesenia Kubasta; stepdaughter, Lineysi Hernandez; son, Ares Tadeo Kubasta Hernandez; expected son Matthew Taz Kubasta Hernandez; father, Matthew Todd Kubasta; mother, Michele Christine Layton; and sister, Misha Su Lott. Matthew is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws, whose relationships he deeply cherished. Matthew attended The Colony High School and studied at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. He was a lifelong, dedicated, motorcyclist. Matthew also enjoyed spending time on the Gulf Coast with family and friends, deep-sea fishing, and whitetail deer hunting. His sense of humor and quick wit endeared him to many who had the privilege of knowing him. Matthew never shied away from a hard day's work and was a loyal employee to AAR Incorporated of Liberty Hill, Texas, holding multiple certifications in demolition and industrial safety. Matthew's generosity knew no limits, and he was always eager to help family and friends in need, never more than one phone call away. Matthew attended Celebration Church Central Austin campus, where he received the gift of eternal life through his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though Matthew is greatly missed, and our hearts may not feel whole anytime soon, we can all rest easy knowing that we will be reunited again in His kingdom.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
