Obituary published on Legacy.com by Veterans Funeral Care on Jan. 21, 2026.
Mary Evelyn Clark passed away in St. Petersburg FL on January 17, 2026 at
the age of 88. Mary was born in Emmett, ID on December 21, 1937 and raised in Klamath Falls, OR by her parents Alberta Evans and Rickles Adkins, Jr. After high school, Mary moved to San Francisco, CA where she obtained her cosmetology license and launched a long career as a hairdresser. She also met and married a handsome sailor named Larry and they raised four daughters together, spending most of their lives in St. Petersburg, FL. After retiring from hairdressing, she worked with both Southland Corp and Publix as a cashier. Those who knew Mary often commented on the pride she felt in successfully raising her family. In her final years, she lived happily at Menorah Life which she fondly called her home. When she passed, she was surrounded with family and cared for by Menorah staff who she regarded as close friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence R. Clark, her parents, and her sisters Audrey, Tina and Cleo. She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Dennis), Vicky (Manny), Carol, and Michelle (Bobby), five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a stepson Jon, a stepdaughter Liz (Ron) and a brother Rickles.

Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell FL on January 27 at 11:15 AM and all family and friends are welcome to join. A second memorial service will be held at Menorah Life in March, and details will be made available at a future date.
