Margaret Carr Obituary

Margaret " Katherine" Carr, of Gray passed away peacefully at her home, Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born in Marion, NC on January 8, 1941 to the late Luke Carl Taylor and Inez Mathis Taylor. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Gray, TN in the Boones Creek Area.

She was a graduate of Boones Creek High School. Most people knew Margaret as Katherine. She will be greatly missed by all.

Margaret and Ernest shared a love that was so deep and will never be broken by death. She loved to work beside Ernest in whatever task he had going. The family explained their love as like two teenagers in love. It always warmed our hearts to see them with each other.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Lee Carr Jr. of the home; also several cousins.

Funeral services for Katherine will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City Pastor Scott Trent officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Internment will be in Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery.
