María Amalia Aurora Jackowski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service on Jan. 6, 2026.
María Amalia Aurora Navarro García, also known as Aurora Jackowski, passed away on December 21, 2025, in Huntley, at the age of 90. She was born on July 4, 1935, in Robledo de Chavela, a date that destiny seemed to mark from the very beginning, as her life would ultimately become closely linked to the United States-a country she came to love sincerely-while never ceasing to feel a deep affection for Spain, her homeland.

Aurora was a joyful and curious person, with a constant intellectual restlessness. A lover of knowledge, unhurried conversations, and ideas shared with depth, she always maintained an open and alert mind, taking a genuine interest in culture, history, and people. That curiosity led her to travel to many countries, turning each experience into an opportunity to learn, discover, and above all, to forge sincere and lasting friendships. Wherever she went, she left behind fond memories, shared smiles, and bonds that transcended borders.

She married Richard Jackowski, son of Joseph and Irene Jackowski, born on July 30, 1949, in Chicago, who passed away on August 21, 2005, in Elgin at the age of 56. Together they shared a life marked by affection, mutual respect, and an open, cosmopolitan view of the world.

Aurora came from a family closely connected to education and learning. She was the daughter of Ricardo Navarro Frontón, a schoolteacher, and María Aurora García Salvatierra, also a teacher-an inheritance clearly reflected in her love of learning and reflection. She grew up alongside her siblings María Sonsoles, María Inmaculada, and José Luis Navarro García, always maintaining strong family ties.

She lived her Catholic faith in a serene and steadfast way, finding in it support and comfort throughout her life. Her beliefs shaped her values and the calm with which she faced both moments of joy and times of difficulty.

Those who knew her remember her for her quiet joy, her thoughtful conversation, her ability to listen, and her special way of relating to others. She knew how to enjoy life in both its small details and its great experiences, valuing a good conversation as much as a new landscape or an unexpected friendship.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, spread across different places, as well as in all those who shared with her conversations, journeys, and meaningful moments. Aurora leaves behind the remembrance of a full life, lived with coherence, sensitivity, and openness to the world, always sustained by the faith that accompanied her with serenity and gave meaning to her path.
