She was the daughter of Ricardo Navarro Frontón, a schoolteacher, and María Aurora García Salvatierra, also a teacher-an inheritance clearly reflected in her love of learning and reflection. She grew up alongside her siblings María Sonsoles, María Inmaculada, and José Luis Navarro García, always maintaining strong family ties.
