DARLINGTON, WI – Lois Jean Gordon, 86, passed away peacefully at Agrace Hospice Center in Madison, on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her family. A devoted farm wife and a lifelong resident of rural Darlington, Lois lived a life defined by family, friends, and an abiding faith.

Lois was a gifted seamstress, well-known for her work at House of Veils and Gowns and Joanne's Dress Shop in Monroe. Whether she was tailoring a wedding gown or helping a neighbor with a prom dress, her craft was a labor of love. She shared this talent generously as a volunteer seamstress for RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program).

She was a lifelong member of the Darlington United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women and the Koffee Klutch Klass. Her community involvement spanned the Lucky Clover Leaves 4-H, the Salty Hollow Homemakers, and the Pistols and Petticoats Square Dance Club. An adventurous spirit, Lois traveled to 47 states and 11 countries alongside her husband, Norman, children and their dear friends.

Lois is survived by her children: Diane (Brad) Schulte of Madison, WI, Cinda (Dick) Quinn of Verona, WI, Donna Gordon of Lexington, KY, and Roger (Lisa) Gordon of Darlington, WI, Brother: Rodger (Bonnie) McGranahan, Sisters-in-law: Mary Severson and Arleta Gordon, her legacy of: 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Norman Gordon, her parents, Homer and Edith McGranahan and her brothers-in-law, Lester (Harriet) Gordon, Wayne Gordon, and Sylvan Severson.

Lois will be deeply missed by her many friends, extended family, and the community she served so faithfully.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 2nd, from 9:00 AM-10:45 AM, with her funeral beginning at 11:00 AM, all at the Darlington United Methodist Church with Rev. Han Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Union Grove Cemetery. The Erickson Funeral Home of Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences can be made at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
