Lillian Torzy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rivertown Funeral Chapel (Ramsay FH Group) on Jan. 29, 2026.
Lillian Marie (Raymond) Torzy, born October 31, 1950, in Detroit Michigan, lived a life shaped by family, history, and quiet routines.

She married Bruce Gereld Torzy Sr. on August 4, 1968. They shared many years of marriage and raised their family in Lincoln Park, Michigan, later moving to Gladwin, Michigan in 1986. Bruce preceded her in death on September10, 1996.

Lillian was raised in a large family and was one of ten siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora Aileen Raymond and George Raymond Sr, and by most of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her brother Christopher (Brenda) Raymond, and her sister Mary King:

She is survived by her four children, Cheryl (Ken) Verardi of Adrian, Michigan. Carole Evans of Midland, Michigan, Bruce Gerald Torzy II (April) of Gladwin, Michigan, and Mlchelle (Eric) Green of Breckenridge, Michigan.

Lillian's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Chelsea Thuot, Jimmy Thuot, Ashlie Strunk (and her husband Matt Strunk), Brandon Evans, Danielle Kreger, Taylor Torzy, Bruce Gerald Torzy III, Kameron Stepaniak Colton Hillier, and Keegan Hillier (and his wife Wiktoria).

She ls also survived by her great-grandchildren: Mason, Hayden, Jackson, Brantley, Tucker, Oliver, Silas, Oswald and Mia.

Lillian was especially talented at crocheting, a craft she truly loved and one through which she expressed patience, creativity, and skill. Many of her handmade pieces remain with family members as lasting reminders of that talent.

An obituary cannot fully capture the complexity of a life, but Lillian's story lives on through the generations that follow her. Her passing marks the end of one chapter and the continuation of many others shaped by shared history, memory and time.

She will be remembered in both quiet and personal ways by those who knew her.
