Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home - Westchester Obituary

June A. “Junebug” Franson,  (Nee Jarolimek), age 88, passed peacefully at home on September 5, 2020.  She was a graduate of Morton East High School.  Following graduation she took a position as a Comptometrist, in the city of Chicago and always remarked how much she loved the excitement of “going into the city” every day.  As someone who enjoyed being with people, later in life, June worked in retail sales. June was married to Army Sargeant, Earl W. Rice Sr. and lived in Germany where he was stationed and where her first child was born.  June was a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother, always putting her children first.  She is survived by her daughters, Cathie (Norman – deceased) Jahaske, Susan Rice; her grandchildren, Jeremy & Casey Robbins, Ashley (Aaron – fiancé) & Earl Rice III and great granddaughter, Violet.   She was predeceased by her infant son, James Rice, and her adult son, Earl W. Rice Jr. and husband, Earl W. Rice Sr.  She was a devoted wife to Norman Franson for 48 years.  June loved kitty cats and her beloved Mitzy, gave her 22 years of love and laughter.  June had many grandkitties that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge: Rocky & Ara, Cubbles & Oreo, Lucy & Desi, Destiny, Indy, Chey & Dakota and one living, Wrigley. June was an avid Cubs fan.  She enjoyed her dance exercise class with the “Sassy Seniors”.  She loved to be active and was always interested in going places.  She travelled extensively: going on cruises, to many European countries, and Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.  She volunteered at LaGrange Community Hospital.  During her retired years, she wintered in Naples, FL and volunteered at The Teddy Bear Museum where she amassed a vast collection of Beanie Babies and teddy bears. She was described by others as the sweetest woman and as kind, giving, loving…and STRONG! Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Friday 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Divine Providence Church for 10:00 a.m. funeral mass. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. From the Grandchildren:

By Ashley Rice

She's in the sun, the wind, the rain, she's in the air you breathe with every breath you take.

She sings a song of hope and cheer, there's no more pain, no more fear.

You'll see her in the clouds above hear her whisper words of love,

we'll be together before long, until then listen for her song.

Heaven got more beautiful!

 +++++++++++++++

I can see it now, she's smiling & laughing with Dad.

She's at peace. Forever in our hearts.

Love you Grandma!
