Johnny Clifton Richey, III, 50, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Johnny was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, brother, and Pappy to his beloved grandchildren. He was a skilled tow truck driver for more than twenty-six years, serving his community with US Towing & Recovery for the last six years. Johnny had a passion for riding motorcycles and was an avid hunter. He had a heart of gold and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Most importantly, Johnny loved spending time with his family and making everlasting memories with his grandchildren. Johnny will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on October 13, 1975 in Louisville, Kentucky to Johnny and Margaret (Young) Richey. He is preceded in death by his brother, Johnathan Young; grandparents, Johnny Clifton Richey, Sr. and Barabara Richey; and grandparents, William Young, Sr. and Margaret Young.
Johnny is survived by his loving family, wife, Jennifer Fleener; father, Johnny C. Richey, Jr.; mother, Margaret Richey; sister, Samantha Gale Richey; children, Jennifer Richey, Noah Richey, Morgan (Beaudean) Richey, Johnny Clifton (Madison) Richey, IV, Jason (Sara) Smith, Kody Newman, Isaiah Pike, Savanna (Michael) Pike, Miranda Mattingly, Ethan Mattingly, Roxanne Tesseneer, Haley Tesseneer; special aunt, Lise Richey; as well as a host of grandchildren, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
The family requests that contributions in Johnny’s memory be made to his wife, Jennifer, to assist with final expenses.
