John Frank Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton on Sep. 25, 2024.
John Edward Frank, age 66, of Carleton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 20, 2024.
Born on April 18, 1958, he was the beloved son of Richard and Mary (Elliott) Frank.
A lifelong resident of Carleton, John was affectionately known as "the mayor" by his family for his connections with everyone in town. Always busy with projects, whether working on tractors, cars, or anything with an engine, John had a tireless spirit and an intense desire to help other people. For many years, he was a dedicated tractor mechanic at Carleton Farm Supply and also spent much of his adult life farming local fields in his "spare time." His great sense of humor and generosity made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his father, Richard Frank; and his younger twin siblings, Sherry Sutherland and Jerry Frank. John's dedication to his siblings was never more apparent than during Sherry's illness. John in his gruff but selfless way endured the pain of his own health condition to be available to help with Sherry's needs in her final weeks.
John is survived by his cherished son, Joshua Frank; his mother, Mary; his siblings, Sandra Fairchild, Michael (Lori) Frank, and Marsha Frank; and his beloved fiancée, Valerie Brickwedde. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, including Danny Dicks, Rick Hochkins, Marie Waite, and Hannah Fitzpatrick.
John will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday September 27 at the Carleton VFW Hall from 1-3 PM (700 Carleton Rockwood Rd, Carleton, Michigan).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you plant a tree in John's memory, honoring the life he lived and the love he shared with so many.
