Isaac Curtis Allen, 44, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at his home in
Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on May 21, 1981, in
Colorado Springs, Colorado, bringing abundant joy to his parents, Kimberly Curtis Allen and Paul Eugene Allen, and was the beloved brother of Gabriel Allen. Isaac was blessed with three beautiful daughters who were the joy of his life: K Isabel Mae Allen, Emerson Lucia Allee-Allen, and Amber Allee.
Isaac was a lifelong debater with a sharp mind and a generous spirit. He was a proud graduate of Southwest Missouri State University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and formed friendships that endured throughout his life-including with his first wife, Jes, Isabel's mother. He first met Rhiannon Dickerson, his best friend, co-parent, and wife, in the fourth grade. Their very first encounter, according to oral legend, may have been tempestuous, but life has a way of weaving fates together. Together, they raised Isabel, Amber, and Emerson with devotion, patience, and joy.
A friend once described Isaac simply as "Magic." Anyone who tasted his cooking knew exactly what that meant. Whether through his grills, his smokers, or a cast-iron pan, Isaac could turn simple ingredients into something soulful, meals that warmed the weary and delighted the fortunate. Like an ancient alchemist, he transformed food into comfort, laughter, and connection. Only his love of food rivaled the call of water, fishing, swimming, and soaking in the great tributaries of the grand rivers that shape our land. In Acapulco, a rip tide once tried to claim Isaac for itself. But he always figured his way back to the land that saw him rise.
Isaac carried the voice of a Yeti and the presence of a mountain. His footsteps seemed to shake the earth with energy. When he entered a room, followed, of course, by the Viking hair that even Ragnarok would envy, he brought with him an unmistakable zest for life.
He stood up for people, always. Isaac advocated building bridges and setting longer tables. He believed in justice, compassion, and in punching Nazis, metaphorically or otherwise, when the world required courage. He wore his heart openly; his heart had no borders, only a river of empathy that quenched the thirsty and welcomed the weary.
Music flowed through Isaac as naturally as breath. It moved him, inspired him, and often brought him to tears, tears of joy, depth, and resonance. His taste in music was as expansive as his spirit: coastal and country, southern and global, always universal.
But Isaac's greatest and most radiant magic was Fatherhood. His voice could lull toddlers into Morpheus-sweet dreams, and his patience seemed endless. His compassion, steady, warm, unwavering, was the anchor of his home. He loved his daughters beyond measure, and they were the heart of every story he lived.
He was adored not only by his daughters, but by his late grandparents, his nieces and nephews, aunties and uncles, cousins, and a countless circle of friends whose lives he touched so deeply. His love and presence filled every room, and his absence will be felt forever. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Natalia Prats (Gabriel), Candy Logan-Brenna (Katie), and Misty Logan (Justin Murphree), who held him close as family and friend. His nieces and nephews: Gauis Murphree Allee, Adrian Owens, Saxon Allen, and Ofelia Allen, cherished him as their gentle giant, their big teddy bear uncle, whose warmth, laughter, and unconditional love made them feel safe and loved.
Isaac's life was one of presence, passion, and expansive humanity. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, fierce loyalty, and magic that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, his parents, Kimberly and Paul Allen, are setting up an account for his daughters. Memorial gifts can be mailed to 31790 Tebo RD, Sedalia, MO 65301 or made at his Celebration of Life on December 21, 2025, at Knuckleheads, 2715 Rochester Ave.
