Henrietta Locke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rush Funeral Home - Oakdale on Jan. 28, 2026.
Memorial services for Mrs. Henrietta Jackson Locke will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, with Pastor Paul Holmes officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Henrietta Jackson Locke was born to Andrew Jackson and Octavia Shaw on March 28, 1941. Despite the love we held for her, on Sunday, January 25, 2026, God saw fit to call her home to be with Him.
She resided in Silsbee, Texas, for over forty years before deciding to move back to Oakdale, Louisiana. Henrietta was the life of every family gathering and graciously fulfilled her role as the "matriarch" of the family. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital for over twelve years as a phlebotomy technician. Later, she worked in home health until her own health rendered her unable to continue, and thus she retired.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Jackson; her mother, Octavia Shaw; two brothers, Robert Shaw and Bobby Jackson; and two sisters, Margaret Jackson and Dorothy Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Cleveland Iles (LaKeyla) of Oakdale, and Earl Joseph Brooks of Bunkie; three brothers, Samuel Shaw (Joyce) of San Antonio, Texas, Jesse Shaw (Minnie Lou) of Oakdale, and Wiley Shaw (Linda) of Oakdale; three sisters, Bessie Lee Jackson of Beaumont, Texas, Betty Goudeau of Shreveport, and Wanda Shaw of Oakdale; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Family Statement: Thank you can't begin to express the gratitude we have for Allegiance Home Health Care, especially Shelly Fontenot and McKenzie Smith. We also appreciate True Faith 3 for all they've done. Lastly, we thank Harbor Hospice, especially Misty, Delores, and Cheryl, for all their care, and for going above and beyond to help us through such a difficult time. May God bless them and everyone for the love, support, and kindness showed to us, and for the great care you gave our loved one until the very end.
