Eileen Sorenson age 96 passed away on Friday January 23, 2026, joining her late husband John A. Sorenson in eternal peace.

Eileen was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and attended St Catherine's College and the University of Minnesota.

After graduation Eileen moved to Jackson, Minnesota to begin her teaching career and where she met John and fell quickly in love. The two had a special bond and raised five children. Cathy Sorenson who preceded Eileen in death, Jack (Leslie) Sorenson, Polly (Bob) Hackett, Dan (Patty) Sorenson) who preceded Eileen in death and Rob (Marilu) Sorenson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Eileen was the daughter of Henry and Loretta Miller raised with two younger siblings in Minneapolis a sister Jane Swanson (deceased) and brother Robert Miller of North Dakota.

Eileen loved to travel, loved art and to paint, sketch or simply create at impromptu times an amazing flower out of a piece of paper would appear. She was extremely gifted as an artist.

Her favorite place was her home in Northern Wisconsin that Eileen and John built together, she so enjoyed her time there regardless of time of the year or the weather. She simply referred to it as her "Happy Place". She painted, sketched, read and simply enjoyed the Northwoods and boat rides in the early evening.

As an avid dog lover Eileen surrounded herself with dogs whenever she could .Her best friend Finnegan was her constant companion. Her favorite lines were "Never trust a person who doesn't like dogs" and of course when sitting down for a meal…"Let's go delicious not nutritious".
