Frank D. Marino, 87, of Norwich passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

He was born on March 9, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Ralph and Sadie (Goot) Marino and moved when he was two to Queens, NY where he attended school. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1963 when he was honorably discharged. His tour of duty included the Mediterranean, Greenland, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

Frank’s career path included working for Perkin Elmer where the lenses he produced went into the camera left on the moon on the first moon landing. Frank often proudly said he left his fingerprints on the lenses. He later attended Dutchess Community College for a degree in electro-mechanical engineering before being hired by IBM as an engineer and after retirement, as a consultant.

On July 1, 1972, in Malone NY, Frank married Sharon Revoir, who survives him. Frank is also survived by his daughter, Leslie Marino (Edward Duncan) of Norwich; grandson, Frank Marino-Moore of Rochester; half-sister, Teresa Dilgard; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Ralph Marino and Rose Fudge.

Frank and Sharon lived in Lagrangeville, NY for 30 years before his retirement when they relocated to Saratoga Springs, and then to Ocala, FL. While in Saratoga, Frank was an active member of the Elks Club organizing and cooking for a popular monthly Italian dinner to raise charitable funds. He also volunteered for the AARP tax program and at Mary’s Haven, a Hospice and Catholic Charities home. He served in the honor guard for veterans’ funerals at the Saratoga National Cemetery. In April of 2025, Frank and Sharon relocated to Norwich, NY to be closer to family and cherish dinners together. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Frank liked to always be busy and had a zest for life. Besides being a truly dedicated family man, he loved fresh and saltwater fishing, sailing, golfing, skiing, tennis, pickleball, building anything, ballroom dancing, and creative cooking. Frank took several courses at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, and his Sunday Italian dinners were always relished by family and friends. In the summer, when Frank was not racing his sailboat, he and Sharon would sail down the Hudson, past New York City to Long Island and Block Island.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at St. Paul’s Church, 30 Pleasant Street, Norwich. Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Church.

His family will be forever grateful for the care and kindness he received from Bassett Healthcare, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, and Hospice of Chenango County.
