Elizabeth R. Malzone, born on November 8, 1942, in Cuernavaca, Mexico, passed away peacefully at her home in
Hendersonville, NC, on January 15, 2026, at the age of 83.
Elizabeth grew up in
Houston, TX and dedicated over 15 years of her life working as a Medical Assistant at the Kelsey Seybold Clinic in the Houston Medical Center, where her compassion and dedication touched many lives.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Elizabeth found immense joy in traveling with her late husband, her daughter and son-in-law, or exploring new destinations with friends. Her passion for the arts was evident in her love for jazz music and her role as a backstage manager for the Hendersonville Little Theater. Elizabeth also had a deep appreciation for gardening, interior design, antiques, animals, and was ever-curious about French culture.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jose Felix and Sofia Rojas; her beloved husband, John F. Malzone; and her brothers, Nefty, Sam, and Lester Rojas, Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Villarreal, and her husband, Orlando M. Villarreal; her cherished grandsons, Leonardo O. Villarreal and Nicholas E. Villarreal; her brothers, Abel, Joel, and Michael Rojas; her nieces, Raven Katlin Rojas, and Lauren Jensen and her husband Ryan; and her nephew, Nefty Rojas.
Elizabeth's family will honor her memory with a private gathering of friends and family at a later date. Her kindness, love for life, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
