Dorothy Durbin-Clinard Obituary

Dorothy Jean Durbin-Clinard, 77, a resident of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed from this life January 25, 2026, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

Dorothy was born in Lawrene County, Illinois, November 24, 1948, the daughter of the late Joseph Rasico and Janie Seward Gideon. Dorothy married Walter Wayne Clinard April 1, 1983; he preceded her in death June 9, 2020. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Carolyn S. Clinard of Indianapolis and her adored grandson, John Lock Jr., also of Indianapolis. She was a sister to Shirley Kelly of Portage, Indiana, Carol (Mike) O'Connor of Bicknell, Indiana, and Cindy Davis of Peoria, Arizona. Her life was further enriched by the presence of many nieces and nephews along with Tracy and Tom Sampson of Henderson, Kentucky who will miss her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, and two sisters.

Professionally, Dorothy dedicated 44 years of her life as a microbiologist at IU Health, where she retired in January 2024. Her commitment to her work was evident in the meticulous care and attention she brought to her role every day.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dorothy was a woman of many interests. She had a particular fondness for spending quality time with her grandson, cherishing every moment they shared together. Dorothy was also an avid Elvis fan, her passion for his music bringing joy to her and those around her. Her love for the King of Rock 'n' Roll was a delightful facet of her personality.

In keeping with Dorothy's wishes, cremation was chosen. There are no services planned.
