Dontez Tavarus Isaiah Forshee passed away on January 18, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center, he peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest. He has now reunited with his father, Larry Darnell Forshee; grandparents, Earzo and Jim Ora Porter-Johnson, Dock Stanford Forshee and Annie Bell Love-Forshee. Dontez was born in
Aberdeen, Mississippi, to the parents of Larry Darnell Forshee and Mary Sue Johnson-Forshee. He was the youngest of six children. Dontez attended Aberdeen School District where he graduated from Aberdeen High School, class of 2001. Dontez went on to Itawamba Community College where he earned his associate degree in Paralegal. Dontez furthered his education in the legal profession at Mississippi University for women and earned his bachelor's degree in legal studies. Dontez attended Strayer University working on his MBA in business until his health failed.
Dontez started his intern at Colon Law Firm, while working at Old Navy as a customer service rep. Dontez later worked as a customer service agent at N.E.W. He moved to Georgia where he worked for Geico Insurance Company for several years. Dontez left Geico Insurance Company where he then took a position with the Georgia Department of Medicaid. He also worked for State Farm as a claim investigator. Dontez was a faithful member of Holy Temple Apostolic Deliverance Church.
A Celebration of Life will be at 12 PM Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in
Aberdeen, MS with pastor Danny Gladney officiating. Visitation will be 3 PM to 6 PM Friday, January 30, 2026, also at the church. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in
Aberdeen, MS. Holland Funeral Directors are honored to be serving the friends and family.
Dontez leaves to cherish his memories, 2 fur babies Chanel and Dior; his mother, Mary Sue Johnson-Forshee; two sisters Lakisha S. Forshee and Keiuna R. (Edward) Nyavie; 3 brothers Eric M. Forshee, Terry S. Forshee, and Titus E. (Jetuan Clifton) Forshee; three Aunties Coretta (Rev. Carl) Perry of
Aberdeen, Ms. Marie McAllister of
College Park, GA, Betty (Daniel) Killebrew of
Indianapolis, IN; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. Dontez leaves a Special friend, Fallon Thadison and his friends Danquan Hill, Rhonda Parhaam, and Christie Bowens.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Robinson, Rodney Walker, Bryson Cole, Jaspher Walker, Tony "Loc" Moore and Qwain Perry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zavia Forshee, Jamarous Perry, Nautica Stanfield, Karlton Perry, Damarrione Forshee, Clem LyVonski Johnson, Jr., LaVanza Johnson and Michael A. Johnson.
Dontez lived a life of quiet, strength, deep faith, and unwavering love. He was a hard worker and his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched, guided, and nurtured.
