Dolores McCaffery Obituary

Dolores Ann McCaffery, 90, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025. There will be no services, in accordance with Dolores's wishes.

She was born July 8, 1935, in Mason City, Iowa, to August and Florence Groh (White). Dolores was united in marriage to Gene McCaffery on January 6, 1958, at St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City, Iowa. In her early years, Dolores devoted herself to her family, staying home to raise her children. She was an excellent baker and found joy in sharing her treats with those she loved. Dolores was active in a bowling league for many years, and her trophies proudly reflected her skill and dedication. She was an avid camper and enjoyed boating with her family. While raising her kids, she had a successful career working her way up to manager at Maurice's retail store. Dolores also enjoyed playing golf with Gene, working on puzzles, tending to her collection of clocks, and spending quiet moments bird watching. The family requests that you contact the funeral home if you would like to send cards.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene McCaffery; her son, Kelly McCaffery; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Pam) McCaffery; her daughter, Kathryn (Brett) McCaffery; her beloved dog, Abby; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
