Born on September 28, 1935, in Providence, Rhode Island, Dolores was the beloved daughter of the late Marciano and Agueda (Santos) Vaz and the devoted sister to the late Emily Goyette. Her life was a testament to her intelligence, faith, and courage, leaving a legacy of service and kindness that touched many lives.

Dolores's early years in Providence laid the foundation for a life dedicated to helping others. Her commitment to her community was evident in her long and distinguished career as a Registered Nurse at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where she provided compassionate care for over three decades. Dolores's dedication to the field of nursing extended beyond her hospital duties; she was also a respected nursing educator at Bristol Community College, where she influenced many aspiring nurses with her wisdom and experience.

Prior to her nursing career, Dolores served her country with distinction as a Commander in the United States Navy for over 19 years. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 31,2026 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME,901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket.

Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, 661 Prospect Street, Pawtucket.
