Brazil "B.S." Simon, Jr., age 82 of
Mobile, Alabama born January 25, 1943 led a life in faith, kindness and generosity leaving all while leaving a legacy that will be cherished forever by Barbara Williams, his significant other. Brazil accepted Christ at a young age and was a devoted member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was a dedicated Catholic who often walked downtown to the cathedral to pray.
B.S. has always been a hard worker. Growing up his family was well known in the community. His father had so many animals their yard, he was known for having the neighborhood zoo. B.S. had to feed the animals daily. Brazil was a very well-known entrepreneur and a master shoe shiner and his work could never be duplicated. He shined shoes at Abrams Barber Shop for many years. After the closing of Abrams, he shined shoes at his house. He was also a waiter at various restaurants and clubs; he earned the reputation of being one of the best at both jobs. B.S. was a well dresser and a lover of fashion. He was a father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brazil and Viola Simon, Sr. and sister, Carol Simon Bradberry.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters: Pamela Seager of Birmingham, AL and Shannon Bettis of
Mobile, AL; son, Brazil Simon, III of
Mobile, AL; special grandchildren: Antonio Simon and Ayana Simon; stepchildren: Willie Lee Glover, Gloria Glover, Maxine (Herman) Wilson of Atlanta, GA, Janie Glover, Dominick Glover of Montgomery, AL; devoted friend, Jacob Wilson, Sr.; many devoted church members: Ed Robinson, Saundra Hubbard Ellis, Josie Gibson, Rosemary Robinson, James Harris and Russell Williamson and a host of other relatives and friends.
