Barbara Sue Creswell

1952-2026

Barbara Sue Creswell, 73, of Ashland, KY passed away at home on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Barbara was born on June 25, 1952 to the late James and Mary Ann Eulett Rhoden. She graduated from Wurtland High School and was employed at Pennco. While working there she met her husband, had a son, and decided to become a full-time mom. She filled the home with love, comfort, and security. Later in life she volunteered for several years at Sparrow's Nook, a soup kitchen ran by Second Baptist Church in Ashland.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tim Creswell, her son, Scott Creswell, and one brother, John (Jean) Rhoden.

In addition to her late parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Layton Rhoden, Denny Rhoden, Clarence Rhoden, and Kenny Rhoden, and four sisters, Mildred Melvin, Lorrene Stone, Correne Grubb, and Ruth Kerns. A few hours after Barbara's passing, her beloved sister Christie Melvin also passed away.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home, located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, KY, beginning at 1:00 pm. Visitation for friends and family will take place prior to the service, starting at 11am. Barbara will be laid to rest following the service at Catlettsburg Cemetery.
