Angela Hey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Minnesota (First Memorial Funeral Chapel) - Duluth on Jan. 28, 2026.
Angela Kristie Hey, age 42, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on January 22, 2026, at 6:42 a.m. at Essentia Health–Duluth, surrounded by her loved ones.

Angie was born on September 17, 1983, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Gordon Hey and Laurie Hey.

Angie was an only child for her first seven years, before welcoming four siblings into the family. She proudly played a role in naming her brothers and sisters-Gordon Jr., Anthony, Ashley, and Kayley-and remained the oldest of five children throughout her life.

She spent about 13 years living in the Twin Cities, before her family relocated to Duluth, where Angie began the next chapter of her life. As she grew older, Angie embraced her independence and freedom. She loved spending time with her boyfriends and friends, socializing, and truly living her best life. Angie was a free spirit, known for her love of people and life.

Above all else, Angie was a devoted mother. Her son, Hunter Allen Hashey, was her pride and joy and the center of her world.

Angie had a vibrant personality and a big heart. She loved the color pink, music, and was a true shopaholic-with Temu being one of her favorite pastimes. She found joy in gift-giving and loved being surrounded by family and friends. During the years when she was able to walk and talk, Angie loved attending ragers, Baystock, and social gatherings, and she maintained many friendships throughout her life.

Her home was affectionately known as her "zoo," as Angie loved animals and had many of them.

Angie is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Laurie Hey; her fiancé, Nick Castagneri; her grandparents, Patricia Ann Hey and Henry Hey; her cousin, Micaila Hey; her aunt, Francis Hey; and her uncles, Frederick, George, Steven, Daniel, and Patrick Hey.

She is survived by her loving father, Gordon Hey; her son, Hunter Allen Hashey; her siblings, Gordon Jr., Anthony (Jeannie), Ashley, and Kayley; her nieces and nephews, Anthony Jr., Wade, Maelynn, Avery, and Michael; and many family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
