Lois E. Weekley was born on May 18, 1939, in Hubbard County, Park Rapids, MN, at the home of her parents, Harvey and Doris (Noonan) Weekley. She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN. She attended a rural school in Hubbard County, MN, from first through seventh grade and then Park Rapids High School, where she graduated in 1956. In June of 1956, she married the love of her life, John S. Breden, in Park Rapids, MN. The couple lived and worked in the Twin Cities area until 1970, when they purchased a small farm near Randall, MN. Lois worked alongside her husband with the operation of the farm, with one of her main jobs operating the tractor and baler during haying season. While living on the farm, the couple adopted two sons, Daryl in 1970 and Michael in 1972. The couple hosted and enjoyed many extended family gatherings on the farm. A large vegetable garden was raised each year and her basement canning shelves were filled with vegetables, fruits, pickles, jams and jellies for the winter months. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends, especially at Christmas, when many treats were baked and shared. Lois's family was very important to her, and she was happiest when spending time with them. She enjoyed doing needlework, and her home was beautifully decorated with her creations. In 1989, after the couple retired from farming and their sons were grown, Lois took a job outside the home, working for 12 years managing a hearing care company. She retired in 2001, and that same year, their farm was sold and they purchased their new retirement home in Randall. Her husband, John, passed away in 2020. Lois lived in her home until July 2023, when she sold it and relocated to Alverna Apartments in Little Falls.

Lois is survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan Breden, MacKenzie (Dylan) Finch, Katelyn (Dennis) Theimer Johnson, Devin (Jennifer King) Koering, and Lainey Tschida; great-grandchildren, Riley, Zaydon, Zaxton, Brendan, Hazelle, Gwenivere, and Kayce; sister, Connie (Michael) Wadman of Park Rapids and brother, Clint (Diane) Weekley of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Breden; sons, Daryl and Michael Breden; parents, Harvey and Doris (Noonan) Weekley.

Lois is one of the most precious people we know who always looked on the positive side of life and was always there for anyone who needed anything. Her baking and cooking were outstanding and her joy, her love and patience encouraged others to be the same. She will be truly missed.
