Freida L. Lindberg of Hibbing passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. She was born on November 16, 1933, in Grand Rapids, MN to Holland and Ivy (Tyson) Taylor. She grew up in Lynwood and graduated from Hibbing High School in 1951. She attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Duluth, MN graduating in 1954 as a registered nurse. Freida worked at Hibbing General Hospital, Mesaba Clinic, Hibbing Urology Clinic and the Hibbing office of Northland Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates, retiring in 2017 at the age of 83.
On June 23, 1956, Freida was united in marriage to Charles Lindberg. They made their home in rural Hibbing. She was a member of Silica Athletic Club, Silica Sr. Citizens Association and a past member of the Range Genealogical Society.
She is survived by a daughter Caren (Paul) Wiinanen of Hibbing, sister, Judy Whitlock of Hibbing, five granddaughters; Lisa Lindberg, Sheri Engstrom, Kristine Sarvela, Bobbi Lastovich, and Rachel Perry, and six great-grandchildren; Zander, Reegan, Malina, Evie, Lianna, and Freya, nephew, Scott Whitlock, and her niece, Rayne (Steve) Arnold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindberg, her son Chuck Lindberg, and her parents, Holland and Ivy Taylor.
Funeral services for Freida will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
