Gladys French Obituary

Gladys French, 93, of Peoria, AZ, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Encore Senior Village where she had lived the past three years. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2005 at the Fry-Bross & Spidle Chapel, Kearney, MO. Burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to Care Givers c/o Encore Senior Village, 9045 West Athens St., Peoria, AZ 85382. Gladys was born in Orrick, MO, on February 8, 1912, the daughter of Merle and Grace (Rainwater) Sullenger. Before moving to Arizona, she had been a longtime resident of Kearney, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Glen Sullenger, and a sister, Vivian Mayo; her husbands, Lloyd Browning and Arnold French; granddaughter, Sydney Browning; and sonin-law, Bruce Potter. She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Sullenger and wife Eleanor of Buckeye, AZ; sister, Doris Swarm and husband Jimmy of Blue Springs, MO; children, Patricia Smart and husband Henry of Tempe, AZ, Donald Browning and wife Diana of Phoenix, AZ, Sandra Potter of Phoenix, AZ, and Steve French and wife Sharon of Lakeville, MN; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
