Janice Larson Obituary

Janice Leah Larson, 82, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Gilbert, Arizona surrounded by love. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janice was born on December 22, 1943, and grew up with a curious spirit and a strong sense of independence. She graduated from Weeping Water High School and later attended Wayne State College. Throughout her life, Janice wore many professional hats-art teacher, real estate agent, secretary, and administrative clerk at the Governor's Policy Research Office. No matter the role, she approached her work with dedication and care.

More than anything, Janice was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her heart, and she treasured time spent with them. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Larson and granddaughters Riley and Maggie; her son Mark Larson (Sharon) and granddaughters Megan and Amber; and her brother Thomas Kassube. She was preceded in death by her brother Walter Kassube Jr., her sister Mary Ann Lorensen, and her half-brother Bruce Ames.

Janice had a special way of making people feel welcome. She loved connecting with others and truly made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and hunting for treasures at garage sales. One of her greatest joys was bringing smiles to children through Clowning Around, a community group where she used her incredible artistic abilities as a face painter.

In Janice's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Janice will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness. Her warmth, laughter, and love touched many lives, and her memory will continue to live on through the people she cared for so deeply.
