Charles Bowman Obituary
Charles Wayne Bowman, 85 of Austinville, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at his home. Mr. Bowman was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Paul and Mittie Coulson Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Everett, Thelma, Barbara, Darrell, Junior and Donald; and son-in-law, Jeff Lineberry.
Charles worked at the Radford Arsenal and retired after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reva P. Bowman; daughters, Lisa Lineberry, Sherry Chumbley (Dan), and Teresa Midkiff (Luke); grandchildren, Keshia Davidson, Shane Davidson (Lucy), Jake Phipps (Roula), Jordan Phipps, Makayla Midkiff, and Savanah Cervinka (Alex); eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, J.D. Bowman, (Elza), Ronald Bowman, Velda Jones, Bernard Bowman, and Margie Byrd (Clifford); sister-in-law Betty Bowman; and special friend, Ronnie Dale Lineberry.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Elder Ronald Bowman and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
