Charles Bradley Obituary

Charles Douglas "Doug" Bradley

November 16, 1944 - June 6, 2024

Fresno, California - On Thursday, June 6th, 2024, Doug Bradley passed away peacefully at home at the age of 79. Doug was born in Ojai, California to Donald Beverly Bradley & Juanita Brown Bradley. Doug left Ojai after high school to attend San Jose State University to study business. While in San Jose, he met the love of his life, Kim Marie Day. Doug & Kim married soon after on March 26, 1967, then moved to the Fresno area to be closer to Kim's family.

During their 56 years together, they raised their three sons and built & grew their business, Bradley & Son's Drilling. They worked hard, they played hard; often times worked while they played. They traveled, remodeled various homes, regularly had building projects going on around their home, enjoyed time and trips with their kids and grandkids, with friends. Doug & Kim had an amazing love story and a wonderful life together.

Doug was a hardworking man with a brilliant mind, a sarcastic wit, and a work ethic like no other. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him; by all who worked with him, for him, or alongside him. He was a straight forward, no-nonsense man. He could put you in your place or talk sense into you without ever raising his voice. His advice was invaluable and would always make us want to work harder, be better, and not disappoint him. We will miss his words of wisdom, his sense of humor, his business advice, his overall presence - including the hand gestures we shouldn't share here that always drove his point home.

Doug was preceded in death by Kim last October. She held his heart & soul and, as in life, he followed her, like always. Doug is survived by his sons, Ron (wife, Nancy, passed away in 2022); Rick and wife, Kathy; Rod and wife, Kara; and Ginger Hammett Pringle, who he considered a daughter; grandchildren, Andrew Bradley & Amber (Galindo) Bradley, RyLee, Beau, & Ryann Bradley, and Jordyn & Seann Bradley; great-grandchildren, Jackson & Arya Galindo, Kennedy & Lily Bradley, plus one on the way.

Dad, we know you're back with Mom like you were desperate to be, but we will love and miss you forever and will continue trying to make you both proud.
