Nell Ruby Morris

August 18, 1927 - December 17, 2025

Nell R. Morris, 98, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, at Grama's Home Assisted Living in Tucson, Arizona.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson Rankin Smith and Gertrude Brillhart Smith Bryant, and by her beloved sisters, Margaret Smith Tear of Roanoke, Virginia, and Mary Smith Watkins of Troutville, Virginia.

She is survived by her loving children, her daughter, Valerie Morris Foley and her husband, Bob, of Tucson, Arizona; and her son, John Kendall Morris (Ken) and his wife, Naomi Nagaki, of Orange, California. She is also survived by her cherished grandsons, John Robert Foley and his wife, Rossie, and their son, John Michael, of Naperville, Illinois; and David Shannon "Dave" Foley and his wife, Angie, along with Angie's children, McKenzie Olsan and Benjamin Olsan, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; nieces, Mary Young Phillips and Phyllis Young Hart; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Nell was formerly employed by Gill Memorial Hospital and was a devoted, longtime member of First Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia.

A private memorial service will be held in Roanoke, Virginia, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Regional Center of Animal Care and Protection in Roanoke, Virginia.
