Juanita "Nita" Kemp White

Juanita "Nita" Kemp White, age 94, passed away on March 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of deep faith, love for her family, and a life marked by strength, humor, and devotion.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Searcy Funeral Home, located at 1301 Neal Metcalf Road, Highway 167 North, Enterprise, Alabama. A Funeral Mass celebrating Nita's life will be held Monday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 123 Heath Street, Enterprise, Alabama. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, US Hwy 231, Ozark, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Wiregrass Emergency Pregnancy Service, W.E.P.S.
Nita was born on December 10, 1931, in Washburn, Iowa. She grew into a woman known for both her unwavering Catholic faith and devotion to family. She later moved to Enterprise, Alabama, where she lived her beliefs through quiet acts of kindness, steadfast prayer, and a deep trust in God. Her faith carried her through life's joys and hardships alike. She married the love of her life, Grady, in Fairbanks, Alaska, beginning a marriage that would span 73 years. Together they built a life rooted in commitment, partnership, and enduring love. Through every chapter of life, they remained devoted to one another and to the family they created together. Nita also had a playful side and loved spending time with family around the table playing card games, where her competitive spirit and sharp wit were always on display. Those who knew her best would describe her as strong-willed, quick with a laugh, and never afraid to speak her mind. Her legacy lives on in her family and friends who will forever carry her stories, her lessons, and her love for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Hazel Kemp; her son, Jeffery White; her son-in-law John Hancock; her great-grandson Daniel Atlas Reynolds; and her siblings, Billy Kemp, Ray Kemp, Georgene George, and Russell Kemp.
She is survived by Grady White, her beloved husband of 73 years; her children Becky Hancock of Enterprise, Alabama; Casey Lait (Mike) of Enterprise, Alabama; Denise Andrews (Wes) of Ozark, Alabama; John White (Amy) of Ozark, Alabama; and Alison Hynes of Gurley, Alabama;17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Catherine Benoy; brother Richard Kemp; sister-in-law Helen (Williamette) Williams; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
