William E. Zielke

William E. Zielke, age 74; dear husband of Adrianne Roggenbuck; loving father of William (Sarah) Zielke , Julie Artrip, James Zielke, Scott (Kayla) Zielke, and Stephanie ( Edward) Martin; dear grandfather of 9; fond brother of Lawrence Zielke and Susan (Ardell) Mueller.

Bill was proud of his family, and active in the lives of all his children and grandchildren.

He dedicated his life to his career in education as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent. In his later years he did consulting work with the state, and achieved his goal of working until 70. He was an alumni of Illinois State University, and earned a doctorate of education from Loyola University. Bill served in the US Army in the late 60's and was stationed in Germany. He was an avid historian, supporter and lover of the arts and classical music. Bill loved to travel the world, reading, and fitness, including biking and hiking. He recently started taking tennis lessons and was planning a trip with his sons and grandson to go camping, hiking, horseback riding and whitewater rafting in the summer of 2021. Bill was always engaged and active, and the center of his family.
