William H. Pokorny, age 93, longtime resident of LaGrange, Illinois. Beloved fishing and golf partner of his departed wife Dorothy. Survived by his daughter Dale Elizabeth (Charles) Petrishe; son William Jr. (Meg); grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann (William) Srejma, Jennifer Lee (Kevin) Priestner, Alexandra Camille (Judith Levitan), William Gerald (Tiffany) and Emmett James Pokorny; great-grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth, Christine Ann, Katherine Marie, Ryan Thomas, Jake William, Jack William, Sadie, Ben Robert, Eliza and Tabitha London; fond brother of Virginia B. Leonhart and of the late George, Richard and Mary. Funeral Friday, February 18, 2011 8:45 a.m. from Modell Funeral Home, 12641 W. 143rd St., Homer Glen to St. Cletus Church, Mass 10 a.m. Visitation Thursday, 4 to 9 p.m. Member for over 50 years and past president of the LaGrange Kiwanis Club, he spearheaded the acquisition of the land which is now known as Kiwanis Park in LaGrange. Also active member of many banking, health care and community organizations in the LaGrange area; attained rank of Eagle Scout; served the United States as a special agent in the FBI during WWII.
