Walter Stoneham Obituary

Walter will be greatly missed. I went to visit him several years ago, and so thankful to be blessed with having a full day of him to myself to talk and learn the house history (3 generations!) and his loves.

I am one of Walter's many cousins and have very fond memories of sailing with him many years ago when my parents would visit Walter and his parents at their summer cottage. I was always amazed by how young he looked through the years. He loved painting and very much wanted to preserve the history of Berwyn where he lived his entire life in the house where he was born. I only heard of his passing this week. The last time I saw Walter was when I drove my mother, sister and son to Chicago in 2003. We enjoyed dinner together, admired his artwork and made up for lost time. Walter drove us to the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. It was a very nostalgic trip for all of us. I will always remember Walter's smile and warmth. I know he will be missed in his beloved hometown of Berwyn. Cousin Judy Christensen
