Timothy Wells Obituary

Timothy Lee Wells

Born: Nov. 9, 1955

Died: Feb. 18, 2015

Timothy Lee Wells, 59, was born on November 9, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The first child of the late Joseph Nathan and Barbara Jean (Crawford) Wells of Coloma, Michigan and Lombard, Illinois. Tim passed away of liver carcinoma on February 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Tim was married to his beloved wife the late Linda Staats and shared 23 years of a cherished love. They resided in Lombard, Illinois and later Springfield, Illinois. Tim attended Wheaton Central High School Wheaton, Illinois and Northwestern Military Academy Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He was a certified mechanic and specialized in Marine and motorcycle mechanics. Tim captained motor yachts on Lake Michigan and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Tim's true passion was for music and was musically trained on guitar and drums. He was an accomplished session drummer and played in various bands in his earlier years. He was a descendent to the Historical Sawyer Ball house, the family homestead in Coloma, Michigan where he enjoyed attending many family gatherings.

Shortly before Tim's passing he openly stated his faith and trust in Jesus Christ. He felt completely at peace with the circumstances and had no fear or regret. His courage and conviction of stepping across the threshold of life into eternity was unwavering. 2 Corinthians 5:8 "We of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord." Tim demonstrated all of this and more.

Survivors include his brother, Jonathan "Scott" (Tammy) Wells of Lisle, Illinois; sister, Marjorie Lou (James) Williams of Montgomery, Illinois; sister, Laura Lind (Joseph) Tito of Chicago, Illinois and Coloma, Michigan; and sister, Cynthia Furman Wells of Dixon, Illinois.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held at the family homestead Coloma, Michigan and interred at the Coloma Cemetery on Memorial weekend 2015 with family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. Tim was an amazing person. I miss our morning coffee together here in Springfield. Being neighbors with him and Linda was a great pleasure. I learned much from them both. I truly loved this man. He will be greatly missed. Would love to come for celebration of life. God Bless his soul and let him rest in great sleep until the time of reckoning when he can be awake to eternal life.
