Thomas "Tom" A. Nemec passed away on July 3rd, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 68 years old, born on August 13th, 1955.
Tom lived life on his terms, embracing each day with determination and independence.
With a remarkable 38-year career in the tool and die industry, Tom's passion for precision and craftsmanship was evident in every piece he created. A self-taught computer programmer, he developed software to operate machining equipment, showcasing his exceptional intelligence and dedication to his work.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing music and relished the days of his youth in a band. His music talents were first noted with the violin and he went on to become an accomplished guitar player. In his early days, he had a deep love for photography and motorcycles. Later, he found joy in cooking, especially in baking fresh bread daily. His curiosity and eagerness to learn new things were constants.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond. He is survived by his mother, Loretta, his siblings Allen (Patti), Alice Blasen, and Jennifer, as well as his nieces, great-niece, and great-nephew.
Visitation Friday, July 12, 2024, 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515. Interment Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
